[attr="class","landfill-link"] wipe away your tear stains, i thought you said you didn't feel pain [attr="class","landfill-scroll"]Kinley had been at the Roman Renegade camp for a while now. She didnt have many relationships now a days, since Cato`s death Kinley had been in a rock and a hard place. She didnt really hate the Greeks for what happened to her home, it was not just one sides fault. Kinley would never admit this to anyone of course because well sometimes she couldn't believe it herself. Kinley was a kind hearted soul, it was in her blood. She was carefree and passive and she loved almost everyone. The problem was that she wasnt going to turn her back on the people who took her in at the age of ten and then there was Cato, he was in her memories constantly. Most people would have known that Kinley had a romantic passed with Cato. She would never turn her back on her Roman brothers and sisters and so she decided to stay put in the Renegade Camp.
Kin wrapped a blanket around her shoulders as she sat infront of a roaring fire. The heat from the burning wood and the flames made her feel safe and content. She closed her eyes and sighed softly imagining the fires they use to have back in Camp Jupiter, she remembered her first fire where she actually met Cato. Her first and only love. Kinley sighed softly, she could remember the feel of his skin on her skin when he held her hand, or the way he tucked the falling blonde hair behind her ear. Kinley had lost herself in her memories, the times she would never get back. She had lost most of her life to the War and now she had no choice but to live the way she wanted to. She heard the sound of someone approaching her instinctively she moved her hand down to her boot where she kept her wand tucked away for emergency. She wasnt super aggressive but when Cato had been alive there had been some attacks on both her life and his.
She looked up her eyes looking directly into the fire. She didnt worry about being killed now a days there was nothing else she could have lost and so she kept herself calm. She spoke in a pretty calm tone her voice was soft and sweet, "I know you are there. I might be alone but I am not scared of you, so if you are here to do harm I suggest you leave." Kinley frowned and looked back towards the footsteps the darkness that wasnt eliminated by the fire seemed to hid more than just people in its grasp. Kinley`s mother was Trivia, commonly known as Hecate in Greek Mythology so she was never scared of the dark not even as a child, but she often felt there was more that the shadows held. She gave a soft gentle smile to whoever was lurking about her held still firmly holding onto her wand just encase it was a Greek Renegade. "would you like to sit?"

435 @kinley awkward & short BY MINNIE OF WW too many war wounds, not enough wars Jovian honestly thought the camp could be doing a lot better than what they were doing. He thought the entire thing was pathetic right now and that they had a loser excuse of a leader. Cato was a lot better. He at least wasn't afraid to lead a battle when his recruits were getting stir crazy. True while Jovian was fantastic as medicine and had become something of a medic under the new leaders request he still craved that fighting spirit. Which is probably what lead him to be walking around at this time of night. He needed to clear his head, who know, maybe even go hunting. At least, that was the plan.
As he walked her saw a silhouette against the fire. It was female, he could tell that from the curves the silhouette took from the blanket holding tightly against the body. Man, Jovian had missed being around girls. Back in the legion at least they seemed more eager to flirt and crap but here they all seemed to be depressed or some shit. Talk about a way to make a limp noodle. Though when he heard the girls voice he couldn't help but chuckle. He recognized it of course, the girl who use to hang around Cato, of course she was known. Her name started with a K, at least he knew that much. Katherine, Kennedy? Nah, oh well, it'd come to him. No skin off his nose.
"Now why would I hurt you? If you were a graecus that would be a different story. Granted, I'd be curious as to how weak our defenses were to let a Greek in, wouldn't be surprised if our leader let them in. She seems like a weakling and she's not even attractive to look at so one more strike and she's out in my books." Jovian said with a slight smirk as he took the seat next to the girl. Was he joking? Perhaps his tone could be taken that way but really it would have been hard to tell. Jovian liked acting like that, making his conversation partner really thing. "So what brings a girl like you out here on a night like this?" Jovian asked as he leaned back, stretching slightly from his walk. So it didn't seem like he would get that hunting in, but at least he had a girl to flirt with. After all, Cato was dead, he didn't have anything to worry about now. too few rounds in the ring and not enough settled scores

[attr="class","landfill-link"] wipe away your tear stains, i thought you said you didn't feel pain [attr="class","landfill-scroll"]Kinley wasnt use to keeping male companions, sure the company was nice to speak with but she hadnt loved anyone in over a year. Being chaste wasnt hard and she had not really found a man who made her feel "special" since Cato had died. She tended to stay in the Roman Renegade camp but well her tent was more towards the forest isolated from the others. She liked people but she liked her peace at night when the night terrors hit. She looked up at the male when he moved into the light, he was an Apollo spawn, she had brought some of her herbs and potions to the medical tent before. She thought for a moment on what his name was but nothing came up. She heard him speaking but she honestly didnt listen her eyes moved back to the fire at least until he asked what she was doing here. What was she doing here? "A girl like me?" She kept looking at the fire, Trivia help her if she didnt end up punching this snob by the end of the night.
Kinley chuckled and looked at him her eyes were soft and kind like they always were, "The bonfires remind me of the ones Cato use to throw....." Her voice got softer after saying his name, it was still like a fresh wound to her. "I know I`ll have to move on eventually but well sometimes it makes me feel like hes still here." She sighed and pulled her blanket tighter around herself, it wasnt super cold but she needed to feel safe and it was hard to do when you were on your own. Kinley wanted to change the topic, her life, the world they lived in, but nothing could actually change the world they lived in now. The war had passed there was no time traveling, Kinley was here now and she would forever have to get use to it. Kinley bit her lower lip and moved closer towards Jovian, she didnt know him that well but she figured some company might do her some good, she had to stop pushing people away.
Kinley kept a couple inches between them and smiled. "How is the medic business going, do you need any more medicine or anything to help make it? I need to go into the forest tomorrow to gather supplies for some potions anyways, if you want me to pick something up for you." she raised a brow and smiled brightly. One thing could always perk up Kinley, being in the woods. She loved to gather supplies in the wood, she loved to hear the animals sing and move around. She wanted nothing more than get lost in the woods, build a cabin and just live there happily and quietly. Feeling Jovian next to her sent a wave of comfort through her she finally felt like she was a living person again. Kinley didnt want to get to close to the male because she didnt really know how he`d react. She bit her lip looking at the fire once more. Deep down kinley could admit that she missed the affection that one could get from another person. Quietly she moved a hand to her neck where a necklace laid warmly on her chest. She touched it gently for a moment before letting her hand fall gently to her lap.

547 @kinley ugh >_< BY MINNIE OF WW too many war wounds, not enough wars Jovian didn't mean to insult the girl but he could tell from the way she repeated his statement questionably that she probably did. Oh well, girls were temperamental. He had learned that the hard way over the years. Not that he particularly cared. Honestly the only time girls caused him the worst trouble was when it was that time of the month and they were all screaming for a tampon, if only he could shove a cork up some other hole of theirs so he could get some peace and quiet and focus on his work, that'd be delightful.
He looked at the girls eyes before looking at the fire. Cato did throw some pretty awesome bonfires, some of the few times that people were able to destress from the hazardous life that was the legion. Jovian gave a slight shrug. "The ones he threw were a lot better than this lame excuse. " He didn't know what to say when she started talking about moving on from him. I mean, he'd gladly offer his services but it wasn't like he would run head first into that situation. Usually women needed time and space, you had to approach the situation in a smart manner. As said before, they tended to be temperamental if you caught them at the wrong angle or time of day or hell, even if you just looked at them the wrong way it could send them into a frenzy with them yelling that you're some misogynist specimen or whatever. Seriously, women could be scary.
He glanced back over at her when she made mention to something he could relate to. He stretched some as he thought. "It's doing alright. More supplies are always needed. I know herbs are good for some stuff so I wouldn't mind it all that much. Not like I have access to too much stuff here and going to a store isn't exactly a walk in the park." He said with a slight chuckled before that little voice in his head reminded him that Kinley just said she would be wandering around the woods tomorrow, probably alone. It would be the perfect opportunity to maybe have some one on one time with the gal. "Ya know, if you want. I can go with ya tomorrow. Wouldn't mind learning more about the different herbs and crap. You seem to be more the expert in that area than I ever will be. Besides, buddy system, right? Don't need ya picked up by any of those Greeks." He said, slightly joking. Wow, it was probably because it was late but he sure felt off his game. Knowing his luck she'd probably take it as some insult to her strength or something. Gods forbid he be allowed to say anything without it being taken out of context. Seriously it was hard being a guy at times. He cleared his throat. "I uh.. I mean, I know you can probably take care of yourself so I didn't mean it like that. Pretty sure Cato wouldn't want to be associated with a weakling so yeah." Gods he just needed to shut up. too few rounds in the ring and not enough settled scores

[attr="class","darkmoonycontainaki"] [attr="class","darkmoonybox"] [attr="class","darkmoonyinfo"]TAG: Jovian Notes: Hope this is okay WORDS: 681 [attr="class","darkmoonyakitextbox1"]Everyone knew that Kinley even after a year was still in love with a dead man, many of the males in the camp learned to just accept it and avoid contact with her. It wasnt that Kinley was mean to them she just didnt have time to be considered a flirt or whatever the boys now a days considered a women to be when she had more than one man chasing her skirt. Jovian she knew to be a son of Apollo, a natural flirt not doubt like his father but also a skilled warrior. She believed to have someone like him take interest in her was a compliment. A small smile played on her lip when he began to stutter over his words looking for the right things to say to avoid upsetting her or getting on her bad side. Gentlemen were a dying breed in this time and era and she knew that better than anyone else. When he spoke of going with her into the woods to learn more about the herbs she nodded slightly, she wouldnt mind having the extra company though she didnt speak to much when she was looking for ingredients for her magical things. There was a lot that Kinley did not let on to others and her a bit awkward was one of those things. Back in the day Cato had been the face and the voice of Rome and Kinley remained quietly behind him for support.
Seeing that she herself avoided conflict Kinley knew the extra muscle could come in handy. She tried her best to stat a peace with others and nature. Without one the other could not coexist, the gods had taken so much time to fix that earth to support them that she wanted to help protect that. She knew deep down that one day she and Cato would reunite and while she hoped and prayed that her love would come back for her she had some doubts. Jovian was what many girls would call eye candy and he was nice to look at but the fact was she could never allow herself to love someone else. Cato had been her first love since she was eleven years old and for the last year she had to sit and watch as others found happiness and love with new people. How could one lose the love they had for someone who had passed? Kinley took flowers to the ruins of Camp Jupiter once a week and placed them where her lover had once sat. She felt a tinge of guilt when she did not go and the sting of loneliness and sadness when she did.
When Jovian spoke of Cato not wanting to be associated with a weakling Kinley merely let out a small laugh. If only she had let them all know who she really was, Cato had known her darkest secrets he knew her passive side, the loving side who did not want to harm others without reason and he himself had her hide it. It wasnt that he didnt love her for it he just couldnt have a weakling as they called it by his side. Kinley spoke in a gentle tone one that sounded more kind than normal. "Weakness is in the eye of the beholder, What you may find a weakness I may not. If you ask me Cato took on a weakness when he began a relationship with me, and you have a weakness for women as most do." She looked at him her expression neutral. "Tell me when was the last time you actually let a woman warm your heart and not your bed?" She raised a brow at him a smile forming on her lips. Kinley wasnt known for being so snarky but she did at times get the urge to set things right. She moved a hand slowly to his letting her hand rest on his for a moment. "Sometimes things and people are complex more so than others.....but anyways yes I`d like for you to come with me tomorrow."

534 @kinley ugh >_< BY MINNIE OF WW too many war wounds, not enough wars Jovian gave a slight shrug at her comment. He never really thought his desire towards women were a weakness. It was a natural biological yearning. He didn't want to sound crude but humans were designed to mate with those he found attractive so by having this so-called weakness he was just basically being a completely functioning human being, right? He needed to really step away from the science side of stuff when it came to humans. He always had a bit of battle when that occured. He knew that she was probably teasing, hence why he decided to keep his biological human evolution crap to himself. She would probably just roll her eyes and think he was being a prick, which he could totally seee where she would be coming from with that.
"You say weakness but I think everyone needs a woman to open up to. Carrying too much burden by yourself is what leads to weakness." Jovian said with a smirk that led into a natural chuckle at her next statement. When was that indeed? He couldn't remember, true he had warmed his way into a few girls hearts but he never really kept by to see what could become of it. He didn't know why. Part of him was a little afraid of the attachment. He had lost his brother before and he wouldn't want to risk going through the pain of someone he cared about again. That was truly weakness. He wouldn't admit that, not to anyone though. No guy ever wanted to admit when they were weak. Society had taught them to always appear strong and able to care for those beneath them and the legion only helped influence that mindset, so he kept that weakness of being unable to open to anyone deep within himself, far from any prying eyes. Girls had a tendency of being curious and he wasn't an open book, not by a long shot. "Eh, too long I can't remember." He said in a completely joking matter, shrugging the subject off.
He glanced down at her hand. Part of him wanted to give it a reassuring squeeze but at the same time he didn't want to cross any lines with her. He sighed at her words, thinking on his previous thought. "The complexity may be just another form of protection. If one reveals too much of themselves it would leave them exposed and we are all smart enough than to wander any where without proper armor." Jovian said, blinking at the deep thought that escaped his lips before he gave her a gentle smile, looking to quickly change the subject before any speculation was built up. "So... bright and early tomorrow then? We can swing by the mess tent and steal all the good breakfast before anyone else wakes up. We'd need it, for all our supply getting. Need to keep up the energy, am I right?" He said giving a pleasant chuckle, hoping to lighten the conversation from the deep hole they both seemed to have dug each other.
